Hello Stardock peeps,

just started a new game in 1.3 and I seem to be having a problem. At first I could move ships with my numpad keys (as usual) but then the end of turn button would not turn green (as noted in a different thread here) so I clicked it anyway, after that I was unable to move the currenty selected ship with the numpad keys. After saving and reloading (even restarted application) the error remains.

Kind regards,

G-Force

I can't figure out how to move ships at all, so your were at least ahead of me.

The number pad - hmmm? I think you mean the arrow keys?

Silly me, I was trying to use the mouse.

So, for those who have played this game - I assume they can move their ship - how, EXACTLY, is this done? How do you pick which ship and how do you tell it either:
a. where it should go (might take several turns)
and/or
b. where it should go this turn (painfully tediuos way to move ships)

I've played a LOT of computer games and things this simple are usually VERY intuitive. Just not this time.

You left-click on the ship to select it, then right-click on the destination.

Left-click on the ship, right-click where you want it to go.

The arrow keys always work for ship/fleet movement, but they can only do up, down, left, and right.

On most keyboards, the "number pad" is on the far right and looks like a little ATM or POS terminal. To get this part of your keyboard working for ship/fleet movement, you might need to press the NUM LOCK key, which toggles the keyboard group between the characters you see on top of the keys (mostly the numbers 0-9) and the ones you see on the bottom (arrows, etc.).

Enabling and using the "number pad" means you can use the keyboard to move ships/fleets up-and-right, down-and-left, etc., by pressing the 1, 3, 7, and 9 keys.

Interesting. When you use the number pad, do you move the ships 1 space at a time? I never knew you could use the number pad, sometimes I still feel like a NoOb. Sheesh.

Silly me, I was trying to use the mouse.

Cute....

The funny thing is, you have the new guys starting posts to ask questions that are so obvious to us "Veterans" and some of us still end up learning something out of the deal!

I'm now having a problem with the numberpad, having reinstalled GalCiv2 on my new computer. It's completely unresponsive, numlock on or not. Any ideas?

Does it work in other programs?
